Committee for a
Better Jefferson
Who We Are
Our Purpose
The Committee for a Better Jefferson (CBJ) was founded in April 1985 as a political committee registered under Louisiana law, with a clear and lasting purpose: to support candidates and causes that strengthen the private enterprise system across our parish. From the beginning, our approach has been non-partisan. We focus on a track record, backing candidates who have demonstrated a genuine commitment to economic growth and sustainability.
We mobilize with purpose during election cycles or when a public issue calls for attention. When action is warranted, our membership votes to interview and endorse candidates, host forums, and contribute to or otherwise support campaigns.
Recognizing that major public decisions directly shape the business climate and quality of life in our community, we've long taken active positions on the issues that matter most to our members.
Throughout our four decades of history, one goal has remained constant: building a stronger economic future for Jefferson Parish and the State of Louisiana.
Mission
Our mission is to support political candidates—regardless of party affiliation—who have demonstrated a commitment to the economic growth of Jefferson Parish, Louisiana.
